Boston are going to do the same.. They will go into administration if they manage lose against Wrexham on Saturday. Instead of starting in the conference next season on -10.. HAHA |

This STINKS ! ! ! Rotheram went into amnistration and started the next season with a massive Points deduction. Leeds were virtually down, so deducting points now is meaningless. And Ken Bates is on the 'new' board that the administrator wants to take over the club. IT STINKS ! ! ! ps am about to change my prediction post, theres a 100 points in this :D |

If you go into administartion surely you start the next season on -10 points? Anyone know the rules? |

The rules are that you get the points deducted in the season in which you go bust. If you go bust in the close season, the next season is when you get the penalty. Because we're still in this season, Leeds get the points docked now, and they are basically bending the rules in that they were almost certainly down anyway - you can guarantee that if they'd stayed up, or had a chance of staying up, they would not have filed until the close season. Although it is the logical thing to do from Leeds' perspective, it does make a mockery of the rules. But on the other hand, what would you expect from Ken Bates - never exactly been one to play by the rules, or care about what others think. Remember when he tried to install that electric fence around the pitch at Chelsea? :ph43r: |

It is clever cos they save themselves for next season, although to be fair it is by the rule book, and there is no other way of doing it cos they COULD still stay up, and the club can file for administration when they want to. If you want to blame someone for the rule blame Leicester, cos they are the ones who sparked the whole thing of 10 points being docked, after they got their debts wiped, and then got promoted to the Prem in the same season a few years back - so the Football League reviewed it, and decided that to be fair, and to make clubs look after their finances better, they would dock points for administration. |

Administration is basically hiring an administrator - someone with expert knowledge on finances and letting him take control of financial things, in order to wipe the debts of the club as best they can, trying to sell as little assets, although sometimes they do sell assets and for football clubs that is normally players. And see my above post for why it happens ^^^ |

its really scanky how theyve managed to have the 10 points deducted once they've been confirmed down, rather than start League 1 next season 10 points down |
